The Transition Infrastructure Framework Coalition (TIFC)
The Netherlands possesses a wealth of knowledge. Our planning bureaus, scientists, and NGOs provide the daily building blocks for a healthy society and a resilient economy. Yet, we see these crucial insights—ranging from "Broad Wellbeing" (Brede Welvaart) to climate scenarios—structurally hitting a wall of political short-sightedness, paralyzing silos, and a governance culture that has lost its way.
The Problem: a deadlocked democracy
Sound advice turns into dust on a desk when the political infrastructure is corrupt or incompetent. While institutions work on solutions for the polycrisis, the current right-wing establishment chooses populism and the protection of vested interests over rational, vision-based policy. Citizens become the victims of a system that simply ignores the facts.
The Solution: The Transition Infrastructure Framework (TIFC)
The Transition Infrastructure Framework Coalition (tifc.nl) was founded to break through this blockade. We claim the domain of the democratic infrastructure that is currently missing. We invite knowledge holders, planning bureaus, and NGOs to join a broad societal bloc. Within this bloc, we:
-
Protect the facts: We provide an independent platform where scientific data forms the foundation for policy, beyond the reach of political manipulation.
-
Integrate the vision: We bring separate scenarios together into a holistic framework (Broad Wellbeing 2.0), in which a healthy economy is inextricably linked to a meaningful life.
-
Enforce implementation: Through our 10-step plan and a broad citizen platform, we create the societal pressure necessary to ensure rational plans are actually executed.
-
Coherent strategy: We combine the power of science, education, public pressure, media, (public) finance and software-technology,
Become a Partner in the Transition
We are not just another think tank; we are the architects of the path forward. By joining the forces of science, civil society organizations, and citizens, we isolate dysfunctional governance and build the infrastructure for a country that works for its residents once again.
